Our Story

In the summer of 2023, Jodie and Sion matched on Tinder. After three days of messaging back and forth and realising the conversation wasn’t running out anytime soon Sion asked Jodie out on a date.

They decided to meet at The Mill pub in Broughton. At the time it was one of the hottest days of the summer, and what was meant to be a quick drink turned into a few hours of easy conversation.

There were no grand gestures just two people talking, laughing, and realising it felt surprisingly natural to sit across from each other. A simple first date in a pub on a very warm day turned out to be the start of something much bigger.

Their second date ended with a first kiss on the Chester Suspension Bridge, one of those moments that feels small at the time but ends up meaning everything. Somewhere between the conversation, the laughter, and not quite wanting the evening to end, it just felt right.

Not long after, Jodie made a promise that she’d get a passport. It turned out to be a decision that would shape the next chapter of their story far more than either of them could have imagined.

What followed was a whirlwind of adventures, starting with their very first trip abroad to Finland. Siôn took Jodie’s love for Christmas and turned it into one of the most magical holidays they’d ever experience. From plunging into an ice lake, to leading a pack of huskies through the snow, to meeting the real Father Christmas, and even taking a school bus ride in search of the Northern Lights, it was the kind of trip neither of them would ever forget.

And the travelling didn’t stop there. They went on to explore nine more countries together, discovering not just new places, but how well they worked as a team. Early mornings, missed turns, new foods, different languages, and plenty of tasty treats along the way, it all became part of the adventure. It didn’t take long to realise that the best part of every trip wasn’t the destination, but having each other there for it all.

Somewhere between airports, suitcases, and shared experiences, what started as something simple grew into something solid, exciting, and full of possibility.

So it felt only right that Siôn would bring things back to where it all began.

Returning to the Chester Suspension Bridge, now filled with memories of how far they’d come, he asked Jodie to marry him.

And luckily for Siôn, she said yes.
